Keoladeo Ghana National Park

Keoladeo Ghana National Park is one of four World Heritage Sites in the immediate Agra area. It is considered one of the world's most important bird sanctuaries. It was opened as a private duck hunting reserve by the Maharaja of Bharatpur in 1902. Sunrise or sunset seems to be the best times to see birds, so the guide says. He was quick to point out however that the birds are there all day! Overview 300.jpg (14120 bytes)

There are several ways to view the park: walk, bicycle rickshaw or even boat. The lake/swamp is divided by small roads so most of the park is easily accessible.
